Sealing your granite or natural stone countertops

When should you seal your granite or natural stone after your bathroom or kitchen remodel?

Once you have completed the process of having your bathroom or kitchen renovated, how do you maintain the granite and natural stone counters to give you many years of enjoyment? Well it is really pretty simple. Cleaning on a regular basis or as needed will help to maintain the beauty of your Granite and natural stone but you will need to seal it once a year. While some people would have you believe that sealing your bathroom or kitchen countertops is a major undertaking rest assured it is not. Maintaining your kitchen or bathroom granite is as simple as cleaning a mirror.

1st. Clean your countertops with a none abrasive cleaner. (There are many products to choose from)

2nd. Choose a good quality sealer. You will also need a sponge or squirt bottle and a clean towel.

3rd. Once your counters are clean you can use a sponge or squirt bottle to apply the sealer. Once you have applied the sealer let it set for the recommended time then wipe it off with a clean towel or cloth and that’s it. If you do this once a year your granite or natural stone will stay stain free and beautiful for many years to come. Note: Try not to get it on your faucets or plumbing fixtures but if you do wipe it off immediately.

If you find that you just don’t have the time to seal your granite countertops feel free to give us a call we can help.
